Perfect for Valentine’s Day or any day love is in the air…

Valentine’s Day Rice Krispy Treat Hearts

4 tablespoons butter
10 ounces miniature marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies
Pink gel food coloring
heart shaped cookie cutters, assorted sizes
1 plastic tub vanilla icing
hot pink sanding sugar
rainbow or confetti sprinkles

Line a 9 X 13-inch pan with parchment paper. Cut paper vertically in corners.
Overlap cut edges in corners of pan.

Microwave butter in large bowl 45 seconds or until melted. Add marshmallows and toss with butter. Microwave mixture, stirring halfway through time, 1 minute 30 seconds or until marshmallows are completely melted and mixture is smooth.

Add desired amount of pink gel food coloring. If marshmallows stiffen, microwave 20-30 seconds more before adding Rice Krispies. Add Rice Krispies immediately. Stir until all cereal is coated with marshmallow mixture. Pour into prepared 9 X 13-inch pan. Press gently in an even layer with a spatula that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.

Refrigerate 30 minutes until Rice Krispy treats have hardened. Cut with different size heart shaped cookie cutters. Frost tops with icing. Sprinkle decoratively with pink sanding sugar and/or rainbow sprinkles inside a rimmed baking sheet to catch any decorations that don’t stick to the treats. That way you won’t have sugar and sprinkles all over the countertop and floor!) Enjoy!
