Bacon Cheddar Burgers

Sometimes Doc and I will cook a pound of bacon on the weekends and make these juicy Bacon Cheddar Burgers. We refrigerate any leftover bacon and use it later for bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches.

Bacon Cheddar Burgers– makes 4 burgers

1 and 1/2 pounds ground chuck
6 cooked slices of bacon
1 to 2 teaspoons dried onions
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
4 hamburger buns
Garnish: Lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced onion, barbeque sauce, or steak sauce

Place meat in a bowl and break up. Crumble bacon on top. Sprinkle dried onions, cheese, garlic salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce over meat. Shape meat into 4 patties. Make an indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb. Sear burgers over high heat for 3 minutes on both sides then reduce grill temperature to medium and grill burgers until internal temperature is 160ºF. Remove from grill and let rest 10 minutes. While burgers are resting, toast and dress the buns. Enjoy!
